The Pedal Pusher Information

Since 1885, with the establishment of Alfred Preece’s bicycle exchange, Christchurch has been a hub for cycling.

With so many cyclists accidents were inevitable. One such cyclist, in a furious hurry, swerved abruptly to avoid a rat and caused a serious accident. Happily, he was reported to be recovering ‘fairly well’. The Pedal Pusher is a nod to those glory days of cycling, and a great place to escape the rat race.
