My first-day-in-Christchurch failsafe for visiting friends and relatives, Cup has done me proud many a time. The price of lunch is worth it just for the view over the city. Although a wee bit expensive for a cafe-style midday meal, the food justifies the cost. The salads are always abundant and delicious.

In my ignorance, I originally thought this place was called Espresso with a View, which would suit it just fine. The coffee is good enough, though nothing exciting. Much more worthwhile to linger here with friends for lunch than just pop in for your caffeine fix. With fab food and friendly staff, it's a keeper.
