I have been to Café Mint several times, I have found it to be a good stop after coming off flights from Auckland. Easy parking, on a main road, easy to find, clean bathroom, and nice selection of foods to choose from. The staff have been friendly. There was one occasion where a staff member did not know how I could get to Brookside Terrace from the café. I knew it was very close by, and when I did find my way there, I was surprised that she hadn't known, and that she didn't ask another staff person to help. Not to worry, I return for my snack and coffee every time I come to ChCh and if I have others with me, we all go there! Thank you !! - Jenny
Although we had a Grab One deal they didn't know this until we got to the counter, on two separate occasions we'd been for lunch the staff stand there and just stare while you make your decision so you feel you don't have time to view the entire cabinets and make choices, and when I did say can we have a few minutes she just stood there over us, so we felt pressured. The staff weren't over friendly or engaging in conversation. I felt we were a pain in the butt instead of paying customers.
The food wasn't the best selection given that we'd come at lunchtime, was empty cabinets.
Water was given at the table thankfully, and given the service and the quality of food choices I am thankful we didn't pay full price. I wouldn't be going there again. It's a real disappointment, as being in that block of shops isn't much competition and would be good for the locals
